I am committed to building a future where people flourish and cities thrive.

For the past 12 years, I have advanced my mission through partnerships with city agencies and the private, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors. I am excited to support organizations, leaders, and peers in creating thriving cities where young children and families flourish.

In early 2023, I was invited to join Capita, a global think tank, as a Senior Fellow and lead its Climate Program. My previous experience as the Knowledge for Policy Director at the Bernard Van Leer Foundation allowed me to develop insights and expertise in advancing early childhood policy that supports the well-being of children and caregivers in cities. I led a diverse team and assisted local leaders and organizations in addressing urban challenges and meeting the unique needs of young people by sharing tools, knowledge, and resources.

I found my passion for prioritizing the needs of children and caregivers in urban environments while leading the Streets for Kids Program at NACTO's Global Designing Cities Initiative (GDCI). Our team published a guide titled “Designing Streets for Kids,” addressing challenges in streets and public spaces for young children and their caregivers. My work focused on design implementation, capacity building, and the application of strategies to create safe and healthy cities. Under Bloomberg's Initiative for Global Road Safety, I worked primarily in Latin American and Asian cities, where we applied the guidance developed in the Global Street Design Guide, the first-ever worldwide guideline for designing city streets. I am so proud to be part of the core team that produced this guide.

Trained as an architect and urban designer, I previously worked on residential, mixed-use, and transit-oriented urban planning projects in India, China, Malaysia, and the United States.

I was born and raised in New Delhi, India, and have also lived in San Francisco and The Hague. Currently, I call Brooklyn my home. I draw on my life experiences, professional expertise, and technical knowledge to solve complex problems for cities, organizations, my community, and, more recently, my toddler and baby.
